SUMMARY:Doug Allen Nash & Penny Gilley
DESCRIPTION:Join us Sunday\, July 31\, at 3:00 pm\, with Penny Gilley and Doug Allen Nash for an intimate show at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center. You will experience and enjoy a variety of country music.\n\n\n\nFor Penny Gilley\, it's all about the fans. Whether she's singing on a stage in Las Vegas\, a packed auditorium in South Dakota\, or in front of thousands of GIs in Kuwait\, Penny treats her audiences like a second family. Maybe that's part of growing up in a place like West Monroe\, Louisiana\, where her first audience were neighbors sitting in the pews at Southside Assembly of God. Penny\, only 9\, would sing\, while her mom and dad would accompany her. Penny's roots are deep in Louisiana. She started singing professionally as a teenager. Her love of country music led her to perform at Opry shows all over the South including The Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport.\n\n\n\nPenny released several singles to radio\, two of which went to #1 on the independent chart. Her popularity spread overseas with more #1's in Europe. She has worked with many country stars including her idols Barbara Mandrell and Loretta Lynn. She says that one of the blessings of her professional life has been the privilege of performing for soldiers overseas. Award-winning Penny says this about the key to success in life or on the stage: "If you're true to yourself and true to your fans\, you'll do really well."\n\n\n\nSESAC affiliated writer/publisher and Nashville recording artist Doug Allen Nash has performed internationally in over 85 countries while touring for USO\, MWR\, and Armed Forces Entertainment. He was a featured artist on the Armed Forces Network commercial in Europe\, appeared on radio and television interviews as well as radio play on European Music Charts. Nash has also performed nationally from the Las Vegas strip to other major casinos and resorts. He has been the opening act for Wayne Newton\, Charlie Daniels\, Huey Lewis and the News\, The Oak Ridge Boys\, Montgomery Gentry and other national recording artists as well as being the house band for the largest grossing venue in Texas\, City Streets. Nash co-produced the trademark show 'Almost Angels'\, a long-running production in Atlantic City. He has been the recipient of many awards.\n\nDoug Allen Nash was raised on a farm in rural Northwest Illinois just 2 1 2 miles from the Mississippi River. He began his journey as an entertainer at just five years old by performing at talent shows\, school functions\, and social events. He had formed his own band by the time he was 12. At age 20\, Nash began performing around the globe. It was during this time Nash met other great entertainers including the legendary Johnny Cash. Nash has performed many styles and varieties of music over the course of his career in the entertainment business and continues to perform with passion.\n\n\n\nCome and treat yourself to an evening filled with some of the best from the world of country music!\n\n\n\nTickets are $22.00.
