SUMMARY:Exhibit Open: History of American Flag
DESCRIPTION:"Symbol of Freedom: The American Flag"\n\n \n\nThe American Flag is a fixture of everyday life. As a national symbol\, it can be seen at numerous locations throughout the country. But it's more than just a piece of material. It represents America's principles\, freedoms\, and opportunities along with honoring our heritage\, diversity and unity of a country.\n\n \n\nThe Pipestone County Museum in partnership with Pipestone Area Schools is excited to host a traveling exhibit dedicated to the history and significance of the American flag\, as part of the nation's 250th anniversary celebrations. This exhibit will include numerous topics including the anatomy of the flag\, famous flags\, the evolution of the flag\, and other fascinating aspects of the flag.\n\n \n\nThe exhibit will be available for public viewing at the Museum beginning September 4. It will remain at the Museum until September 25 when it will travel to the middle/high school library for two weeks to be viewed by students at Pipestone Area Schools. It will then return to the Museum where it will remain until the end of October. The public is invited to stop by the Museum to view the exhibit while at the Museum. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nWe will also be hosting Anita Gual with a presentation on the subject October 1st. Anita will speak at the MS/HS that afternoon then doing a presentation for the public at 7:00 pm that evening at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center. \n\n \n\nQuestion may be directed to the Museum at (507) 825-2563 or by email at museum@pipestonecountymuseum.com.
