Experience the beauty of winter at the Hiawatha Pageant Park nightly! Drive through viewing of lighted Christmas trees will be available nightly through January 1, 2022 after the opening Lighting and Luminaria Walk on November 27th.

The Pipestone County Museum will be offering a series of Family History Workshops early 2022. These workshops are designed for anyone who is interested in learning how to conduct genealogical research. All workshops will be held in the Community Room of the Pipestone County Courthouse. Workshops begin at 7:00 p.m. and will last no longer than 90 minutes. Cost to participate is $5.00 per workshop for nonmembers and $3.00 for members of the Pipestone County Historical Society. You may choose to attend one session or all three. Workshop 1: ?Start with What You Know? This workshop will be held Tuesday, January 18 and is designed to show participants how to use various family group sheets and timelines to record information already known about family members which will help identify other information they would like to know. Workshop 2: ?Utilizing Local Resources? This workshop will be held Tuesday, January 25 and will focus on how to use resources within a community such as historical societies, genealogical societies, newspapers, churches, and courthouse records to fill in missing information. Workshop 3: ?Taking it to the Web? This workshop will be held Tuesday, February 1st and will concentrate on using websites such as FamilySearch.com, Ancestry.com, and FindAGrave.com to further extend the research process. Museum's "Coffee Talk"
The January presentation will be held Thursday, January 20th. Mary Schwebach, member of and volunteer for the Pipestone County Historical Society, will speak on the History of Memorial (Mourning) Jewelry and Etiquette. Mary will have mourning items, including a mourning dress from the 1880s, on display and will share information about them during her talk. The Pipestone County Historical Society?s Coffee Talks are held the third Thursday of each month. These talks are FREE to the public. The community is invited to the Pipestone County Museum at 9:45 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month for coffee followed by a presentation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Comedian Mary Mack
A hybrid of Minnesota and Wisconsin (with a severe cheese dependency), comedian Mary Mack is a favorite on radio shows and podcasts around the country including The Bob and Tom Show, Marc Maron's WTF Podcast, and The Grand Ole Opry. Soup Luncheon for Midwest Honor Flight (Drive-Thru Only)
Due to the increase cases of Covid and influenza, the Midwest Honor Flight soup lunch sponsored by the Jasper and Pipestone Lions Club will be a drive-thru event. The lunch is scheduled for January 23, serving 10:30-1:00 at the Pipestone American Legion. We are unable to have the silent auction at this time. Please come to the front of the American Legion Building (east side) from the south on 2nd Ave SE. Order blanks will be handed out and you will be directed from there. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience.

HPI Used Book Sale
Historic Pipestone Inc. (HPI) holds their monthly used book sale fundraiser on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am - Noon. The sale features books in both hardcover and paperback, ranging over a variety of subjects in both fiction and nonfiction. All such books are donated by members of the community.
