The City of Pipestone - Citywide Cleanup Fall Drop Off Days: Monday, October 4-Thursday, October 7 from 7am to 7pm. Friday, October 8 from 7am to Noon. Drop off location is the Public Works Shop at 415 2nd St NE. Follow the signs posted. Items accepted free of charge include building materials, carpet, clothing, flooring material, household furniture and items, grills with tanks removed, sinks, bathtubs, toilets, metal, and junk! Tired of seeing the same simple borders around panels? Let's look at options and try something new! Panels can be so much fun, but they can also be a challenge. In this 2-week class we'll explore many different options for panels, some will likely be familiar and hopefully some will be new. The goal will be to have a panel project completed, or at least well underway, by the end of the second class. Bring your machine in good working condition. This class is recommended for those that are at least confident beginning quilters.

Luminary bags will surround the 3/4-mile paved trail with Indigenous musicians, singers, and dancers spaced at different locations. Visitors may grab a cup of cider or hot cocoa from the visitor center and make their way around the trail at their leisure, taking in the sights and sounds. For this one hour, the prairie will be filled with the artistic expressions of the many peoples who have called the pipestone quarries home for centuries. This event is free, self-guided, and open to the public.

If you would like to claim a tree for lighting, please RSVP to the city of Pipestone by calling 507-825-3324 or stopping at the city office to get your tree assignment. Lights can be strung beginning Saturday, November 20 and will stay up through New Years. Identifying signs are welcome.
An open house retirement reception will be held in Carol's honor at the Pipestone County Exension Office.
