HPI Used Book Sale
Historic Pipestone Inc. (HPI) holds their monthly used book sale fundraiser on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am - Noon. The sale features books in both hardcover and paperback, ranging over a variety of subjects in both fiction and nonfiction. All such books are donated by members of the community.
Santa Claus comes to Pipestone Airport!
Join us for this FUN, FREE event for the whole family. Santa is arriving by Airplane at Pipestone Municipal Airport on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 10:00 am! Visit with Santa inside the airport terminal, and take a photo with him too! Don?t forget to bring your letters! 4-H Ambassador Elves will also have several free, fun, Holiday Make-and-Take activities for kids in the heated airplane hangar next door. This event is sponsored by the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce, Pipestone County 4-H Ambassadors, and the Pipestone Municipal Airport.
Tour of Homes
Historic Pipestone, Inc. is excited to bring this event back after a 2-year hiatus due to COVID. Kick off your Holiday season by visiting these 3 homes that are sure to be decorated beautifully, then stop by the Historic St. Paul Episcopal Church for some refreshments. This event is a fundraiser for Historic Pipestone Incorporated. All proceeds will benefit the ongoing rehabilitation of the church. Start your tour at any of the homes and purchase your ticket at the house.

Pipestone County Christmas Care Distribution Day
The Pipestone Kiwanis Club and Pipestone County Food Shelf will be distributing gifts of toys for children ages 12 and under and food for families or individuals in need of financial assistance during the holidays! Guidelines: All recipients must be a Pipestone County Resident. Toys are for children 12 and under. Parent or legal guardian must be present to pick up on distribution day - no substitutes. Holiday Meal Tote - limit one per household. This year, recipients will be assigned a specific date and time. Distribution day for 2022 will be Saturday, December 10 from __AM -__PM at the Blue Building at the Pipestone County Fair Grounds.

Hey Parents & Grandparents! Your kids can ''mail'' their letters to Santa in Santa's red mailbox located at the Santa Shed downtown on the corner of Main Street and Hiawatha Avenue. PLUS, if your letter is in his mailbox by Monday, December 12, 2022, Santa will write your child back! Museum's "Coffee Talk" with Trava Olivier
December's ?Coffee Talk? features Trava Olivier, Museum Educator for the Pipestone County Historical Society. Trava will share the History of Agriculture in Pipestone County. The presentation will briefly touch on topics such as the Percheron horse farm that was located at Cazenovia and the time when potatoes were grown as a cash crop. It will also offer comparisons on the average number and size of farms and the types of crops and livestock raised throughout the county's history.

Christmas Bird Count
Friday, December 30th, is the day for our annual Christmas Bird Count. Volunteers will meet in our visitor center at 7:30am for complimentary coffee and donuts, break into groups, and head out to count those birds! This is an early event (can't help when the birds are out), but always a fun one. If you haven't been birding or don't know a lot about them, that's okay! This is a perfect chance to both learn and help us collect data. The more experienced birders are always helpful and generous with their knowledge. You won't be out in the cold the whole time either - we'll be covering several miles surrounding Pipestone, so it's more of a scavenger hunt for groups as they drive through their designated areas, getting out to in good spots for habitat to snap photos and record sounds of birds. Don't worry if you don't know what it is - our birders will help with that! This is a lot of fun for the whole family and provides crucial data about wildlife - hope to see you here! . Everything is free and open to the public- we hope to see you there!

Coat Drive Donation Deadline
Join Dahl Motors and Bomgaars in bringing in new or gently used men's, women's, and children's winter coats, hats, and gloves! Donation boxes will be located at both Dahl Motors and Bomgaars. Donation Deadline: Friday, December 30th. ? Donations will be delivered to Volunteers In Mercy of Pipestone for distribution.

Children's Theater Auditions
Attention! Mark your calendars for auditions for the children's spring plays. This is for kids grades 1 - 8. Auditions will be Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 4:45 to 7:00 PM at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center. This is through the Calumet Players Children's theater. Performance dates are tentatively scheduled for March 24, 25, & 26. Participation fee is $30 per child. Scholarships are available. The Pipestone Cattleman's Association will be hosting a Memorial Meal for Josh Stangeland at the Pipestone American Legion Hall from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 15th. They will be serving a hamburger meal for a free will donation. Please come out and show your support for this family.
PCMC Community Blood Bank Drive
Pipestone County Medical Center is hosting the Community Blood Bank Drive on Monday, January 16, from 9:00 A.M. - Noon and 1:30 P.M. ? to 5:00 P.M. The Bloodmobile will be parked in the clinic/hospital circle drive, and registration will be in the PCMC lobby.
