Pipestone Ambulance Association DRIVE-THRU Annual Chili & Soup Feed
Equipment Fundraiser. The Pipestone Ambulance Association will be holding their 31st annual Chili Feed Fundraiser on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty of dine-in guidelines, the 2021 Chili Feed will be held in DRIVE-THRU form at the Pipestone County Emergency Services Building located at 811 5th St SE in Pipestone. Please note location change! Please look for signs and line up facing South on 9th Ave SE. The drive-thru supper will be held from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Our menu will feature our great award-winning chili (mild or hot), along with chicken noodle soup, grilled hand and cheese sandwiches, and dessert. Quarts of Chili and Soup will also be available to purchase for $5/quart. Delivery within Pipestone City Limits WILL be available from 4-5pm, but we ask that you call 507-825-1170 before 5 pm on March 4 to place a delivery order.
Zachary Ploeger & Miriam Hickman in Concert
A performance featuring trumpet soloist Zachary Ploeger and pianist Miriam Hickman. Hear standards from the classical repertoire and familiar favorites. Ploeger is currently finishing his doctorate in music at the University of Minnesota. And Miriam Hickman is the official collaborative pianist for the International Trumpet Guild. The pair have recorded three trumpet and piano CD recordings. Due to Covid-19, tickets will not be available for pre-sale. Tickets will be available immediately before the performance for $10 and limited to the first 75 guests. Social distancing, mask wearing, and all state and local public health requirements will be followed.

We?ll have giant video telescopes aimed view star clusters, galaxies, and more. They?ll also be safe viewing with other telescopes aimed at the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades Star Cluster, and more. Free wrapped safety glasses will be provided for individuals, couples, and families. You?ll also get a big handout package with user-friendly star maps and constellation charts, apps, websites, a telescope-buying guide, and more! Kids Bowl Free
We are honored to be hosting a Kids Bowl Free day on Sunday, April 11th! The Sons Of The American Legion Squadron #6 wanted to give back to the community with some of the funds from their omelet breakfasts as a way to say ''Thank you!'' for all of your support, so they asked me to organize an event for our customers! Here's the details you need to know: -Kids 12 and under will receive one free hour of bowling with a paid adult (it doesn't need to be one adult per child, there just needs to be at least one adult present for supervision.) If you want to go for more than an hour, you are more than welcome to reserve more time, but only the first hour is free. -Shoe rental ($1 per person) is not included. -Reservations ARE REQUIRED. -There is a limited amount available, and the free bowling will be offered on a first reserve first serve basis. -We still have Covid-19 guidelines we must follow. Group sizes are still limited to 12 people or less and will be spaced apart from other groups. Masks are required while not actively eating, drinking, or bowling. -Birthday party packages/benefits cannot be combined with this offer.

Speaker Series: "The Sacred Pipestone Quarries"
Speaker Series: ?The Sacred Pipestone Quarries? The Pipestone County Historical Society will be hosting a speaker series on the Pipestone Quarries. All presentations will be held at the Historic St. Paul Episcopal Church parish hall (221 4th St. SE) in Pipestone. Presentations begin at 10:00 a.m. Admission will be $5.00 per person with proceeds to benefit both the Pipestone County Historical Society and Historic Pipestone, Inc. Dates and topics to be presented include: April 17th: Travis Erickson, local quarrier, carver and demonstrator, will discuss the significance of the Pipestone quarries to the Native American culture. May 1st: Trava Olivier, with the Historical Society, will share the history of the quarry site from the Treaty of 1858 to its creation as a National Monument. May 15th: A ranger from the National Parks Service will discuss the site as a National Monument beginning with its creation and moving forward to today. Defensive Driving Refresher Classes
Defensive Driving Refresher Classes will be held at the Pipestone County Emergency Management Services building on... Thursday, April 22nd at 1:30 pm & 5:00 pm (at EMS Building) The 5:00 pm class is perfect for working seniors! The cost of the class is only $25 per person for the 4-hour course and $30 for the 8-hour course. Prior registration is required by Monday, April 19th for the class and prepayment for the class is required. You will not be able to pay the day of the class. The class is limited to 18 participants. If you would like to register for the class you may call the senior center office at: 507-825-3252. Diane is in the office Monday through Thursday 12:15 pm - 5:15 pm. If you have any questions or would like more information feel free to call. Completing the course successfully can get you discounts on your insurance for up to 3 years! Please wear a mask.
