Salem Cemetery Walking Tour
Salem Cemetery Tour Scheduled The Salem Church Cemetery was started in 1886. Located in Sweet Township near the South Dakota border this tour will visit the gravesites of some of the people who worshiped in the Salem Church and farmed the land nearby. Still active today, a brief history of the church will also be shared. The tour will be held Saturday, August 29th beginning at 10:00 a.m. Cost of the tour is $3.00 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Directions to the church and cemetery are: 5 miles west of Pipestone on Highway 30, 4 miles south on County Road 13, 1 mile west on 61st street (gravel). Tickets can be purchased at the Pipestone County Museum in advance or at the cemetery on the day of the tour. All COVID-19 social distancing guidelines will be followed. Bring your mask. The Pipestone County Museum is located at 113 S. Hiawatha Avenue in Pipestone, MN. If you have further questions you may call the Museum at (507) 825-2653 or email them at pipctymu@iw.net.

Sheep Shearing Demonstration
Sheep Shearing Demonstration to be Given: The Pipestone County Historical Society invites you to join Rodger Olivier, local sheep shearer with 40 years? experience, as he talks about the history and tools of his trade and performs a live demonstration of the craft. This demonstration will be held Saturday, September 19th at 1:30 p.m. Due to COVID-19 this event will be held at the picnic shelter at Moore Park located on North Hiawatha Avenue. There will be limited seating, please bring a chair or blanket and plan to social distance. Bring a mask! Cost of this event is $3.00 per adult; children 12 and under are free. Free Hot Dogs, Chips, & Pepsi Drive-Thru
Pipestone True Value, Hank's Foods, & Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Pipestone are sponsoring a free hot dog, chips, & Pepsi products drive-thru lunch in the old parcel pickup on the east side of True Value on Saturday, September 26 starting at 11:00 am until gone. The Pipestone Lions Club will be serving and accepting free-will donations. All proceeds will go towards purchasing toys for the community at Christmas.
