Museum's "Coffee Talk"
The Pipestone County Historical Society?s Coffee Talks are held the third Thursday of each month. These talks are FREE to the public. The community is invited to the Pipestone County Museum at 9:45 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month for coffee followed by a presentation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
One-Room Schoolhouse Open
The District #3 One-Room Schoolhouse at Moore Park will be open to the public on Thursdays through the summer (June 9 through September 1) from 12:30 pm to 3 pm. Activities will start outdoors at 12:30 pm with schoolyard games. At 1:00 pm, retired school teacher Diane Hansen will greet students inside with educational activities. Volunteers will be present to share information about the oldest country school in the county!
POSTPONED TO 9/07: 5th Annual Kids' Fishing Derby
***DUE TO THE FORECAST OF 80% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS, THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH***We're bringing this end-of-summer celebration back again in 2022. Kids ages 15 and under dip their lines in the ol' quarry pond while competing for trophies and prizes given for first fish caught, shortest fish, lightest fish, heaviest fish, and longest fish. JBS will be providing grilled hamburgers. See poster above for details. Hosted by Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce & Pipestone Kiwanis Club with the sponsorship from JBS - Pipestone, Sons of the American Legion, PIPESTONE (Rib Feed at the Fair proceeds), Truss Pros, Coborn's, Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. of Pipestone, GROWMARK Lubricants, Pipestone Area Coalition, and the City of Pipestone.
