New Dates for the 32nd Annual Water Tower Festival
Thursday, July 29 - Sunday, August 1, 2021
2021 Theme: "Wild About Pipestone!" (Jungle Theme)
Please mark your (ever-shifting) calendars for late July 2021! In optimistic hopes of holding an actual, in-person, non-virtual community event with as many of the typical events as possible, the Pipestone Area Chamber Board and Water Tower Festival Committee has made the difficult but proactive decision to reschedule our 2021 Water Tower Festival from the usual fourth weekend in June, to the end of July. Based upon the best information we have received and without a specific numeric benchmark for planning purposes, our best guess is that the State of Minnesota's COVID-19 regulations will most likely not allow "large public gatherings over 250 people" until a majority of Minnesotans are vaccinated. Moving the festival to July 29th - August 1st provides another month's time to hopefully vaccinate more of our residents thereby increasing the likelihood of reduced restrictions on large-scale community events. The theme of the 2021 Water Tower Festival is "Wild About Pipestone!" which will be a jungle theme.
As frustrating as this is to everyone who has already made personal or class/family reunion plans and reservations, it is our hope that late July or August will allow greater flexibility than a June event. We did consider moving the event to August to allow for even more time; however, August is already filled with county and state fairs, many of which were also cancelled last year. Please know that great thought went into this decision and we sincerely apologize to any person or group that this decision inconveniences. We are doing our best to work within the current guidelines and try to plan under unknown future guidelines and conditions. If you have any questions or need to update your class reunion dates, please contact the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce at 507-825-3316 or by email at email@example.com
Please keep our local businesses and their employees in mind when spending your hard-earned dollars ~ especially the bars, restaurants, fitness centers, retail shops, attractions, and lodging establishments. There are also many other local businesses and their employees ~ including various service providers ~ that have been adversely impacted in ways that aren't immediately apparent. Please visit them and get to know what's available locally before purchasing from Amazon or traveling out of county or state. We're not saying don't shop those options; we are simply encouraging and thanking those who are giving Pipestone County's businesses the first opportunity. Our businesses have been absolutely incredible throughout 2020; are willing to go the extra mile for their customers; contribute to our tax base; provide our friends and neighbors with jobs; donate to our local nonprofits/churches/schools/
