Experience the beauty of winter at the Hiawatha Pageant Park in Pipestone! The 5th Annual Lights at the Lodge lighting is Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Hiawatha Pageant Park, official lighting at 6:00 pm. After the official lighting, the lights will be on every night through January 1, 2025. Following the opening night, visitors will be able to drive through the park exiting through the north gate, or can park and walk through the lighted sites throughout the holiday season. The first night of lighting (weather permitting) on Saturday, November 30, includes a luminary walk, live entertainment provided by local musicians, and refreshments served at the lodge. There will also be painted boards for holiday photo opportunities. Parking on opening night is off of North Hiawatha Avenue. Please park with headlights facing east. Those with limited mobility should enter from the 805 3rd Ave NW entrance and park directly by the lodge.
Individuals, families, and organizations are invited to adopt a tree to decorate and light. Volunteers use their personal lights, decorations, and electrical cords. Several tall ladders and poles are available to help with decorating. To reserve a tree, you must contact the Pipestone City Office at 507-825-3324. Tree decoration can start on Friday, November 22. Trees must be decorated by 4:00 pm on Friday, November 29. There is no fee to decorate a tree, but trees are limited.
Volunteers will be needed to assist with lighting trees, setting up indoor and outdoor decorations and lighted scenes ahead of opening night. The opening night lighting requires volunteers to serve beverages, set up luminaries, and provide live entertainment. Volunteers are also needed to take down lights and decorations by January 6. The Hiawatha Pageant Park is preparing for the 5th annual outdoor holiday lighting event. Over 35 large and small trees are ready to be adopted and decorated by Businesses, Organizations, Families, or Individuals. Join this beautiful and festive community event by calling the City of Pipestone to claim your tree at 507-825-3324. There is no fee to participate however the decorations, lights, and any signage are provided by the volunteer decorators. More decorating instructions will be given once a tree is claimed.
