Pipestone County Fair
Our old-fashioned county fair is annually a top event in the county. Bring your kids to the children's barn to see and pet baby animals! Bring your appetite for unique food offerings each night! 4-H, FFA, and open class exhibitors share livestock, exhibits, and art with the public. There will be a midway featuring rides and games, displays and booths, as well as food and fun!
Farmers Market.
A place to come to purchase fresh, local produce, homemade goods (breads, jams, baked goods), and support your community! Our farmers market is a proud member of the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce and a program of Pipestone Active Living. AMP: Seussical Kids
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical KIDS, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime). Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many ''thinks.'' Horton's challenge is twofold ? not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Writer's Retreat
Join us for a Writer's Retreat at Meinders Community Library! Writers of all kinds welcome - whether you're working on a litter, journaling prompts, or the next American novel. Day will include dedicated time to work on projects as well as other writing activities. Library doors will lock at 2 pm, so please arrive prior for this drop-in event.
"Written in Stone" Cemetery Tours
The Pipestone County Historical Society will be hosting a series of cemetery walking tours throughout the summer of 2026. Tours will be held on the second Saturday of each month, June through September. All tours will begin at 2:00 p.m. and each tour will include stories of Pipestone County pioneers, Pipestone County veterans, and the meaning behind the symbolism found on some of the gravestones. The cost of each tour is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for members of the Historical Society, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Pipestone County Museum or at the Cemetery on the day of the event.
