Old Woodlawn Cemetery Walking Tour
FINAL CEMETERY WALKING TOUR OF SEASON! When: Saturday, September 20th at 2:00 pm Where: Old Woodlawn Cemetery (676 116th St, Pipestone, MN) Cost: $5.00 or just $3.00 for members of the Pipestone County Historical Society Everyone has a story to tell - even those who lived long before us! This tour will visit the gravesites of several former residents of Pipestone County and share the biographical sketches of the individuals who are buried beneath the stones.

National Public Lands Day - Volunteers Needed
Join our Natural Resources Department for a hands-on experience in prairie restoration! Help us collect native prairie seeds and remove invasive plant species to support our local eco-systems. No experience needed - we'll provide the tools and training. Just bring sturdy shoes and dress in layers for the weather! Children are welcome to participate. Volunteers receive complementary lunch after 11:00 am as well as tokens of our appreciation. Event begins at the Monument visitor center at 9:00 am. This event is free and open to the public.
Tall Cop Says STOP
Coming this Fall, we will be welcoming Jermaine Galloway, also known as Tall Cop. Officer Galloway has worked in substance abuse prevention and education for over 20 years. After playing Division I basketball and receiving his BA in Sociology, he worked as a law enforcement officer for 18 years. This educational event will provide parents and community members the ability, knowledge and confidence to help prevent and quickly identify alcohol and/or drug use and abuse indicators of possible at-risk individuals, through products, stash compartments, clothing brands, lingo, music lyrics, etc. Attendees will learn to identify concealment methods for alcohol and drugs in the home, classroom and workplace, including vaping. This is a FREE event for Adults (18+). Mark your calendars! This event will be taking place in Pipestone on Sept. 30th at 6:15 pm.
The Oscar Howe Traveling Exhibit
The Pipestone County Historical Society is currently hosting The Oscar Howe Traveling Exhibit. This exhibit aims to bring Oscar Howe?s life and artistic legacy to community spaces across the region. The exhibit features eight banners that explore the artistic development and biographical details of the Yanktonai Dakota artist who helped to expand the definition and understanding of Native arts. The exhibit will be on display at the Pipestone County Museum from September 16-30. It will then travel to Pipestone Area Schools where it will be on display for students in the MS/HS Library from October 1-15 before returning to the Museum for a second showing October 16?28. The public is invited to visit the Pipestone County Museum during this time to see the exhibit. Admission to the Museum galleries is $3.00.
