Calumet Players

About Us

The Calumet Players are a non-profit theater group presenting three main-stage and two children’s theater shows a year at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center.

The Calumet Players were born through the interests and efforts of a small group of individuals in the spring of 1994. The organizers of this group wanted to utilize the brand-new arts facility in town -- the Pipestone Performing Arts Center -- for productions featuring local talent. they approached a director, assembled a multi-age cast, and staged the comedy See How They Run in August of that year. Over the next fifteen months, these three organizers - along with a growing following of actors and crew -- presented three additional shows. The last, The Diary of Anne Frank, in November of 1995, played to numerous sold out houses. Formal organization of the Calumet Players took place in March of 1996. In 1998, The Calumet Players further diversified their offerings by accepting management of the Children’s Theatre. The Calumet Players have featured productions ranging from comedies and melodramas to musicals and thought-provoking dramas.
