US Civil War Union Soldiers Cemetery Tour
WHEN: Saturday, July 18 at 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: Old Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone, Minnesota
COST: $3.00 per adult; children 12 and under are free
DETAILS: Veterans of the Civil War were some of the earliest homesteaders in Pipestone County. This tour will visit the gravesites of some of those Union soldiers buried at Old Woodlawn Cemetery near Pipestone, MN. The life stories of several of these individuals will be featured. The tour will also provide information of the 3 posts of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) that existed in Pipestone County and give the history of the Civil War Soldiers Memorial that sits on the Pipestone County Courthouse lawn and features the names of over 400 Union soldiers and soldiers in the Spanish-American War from Pipestone County.
