Volunteers are needed at the Pipestone National Monument on National Public Lands Day, Saturday, Sept. 28.
Volunteers can get out in the tall-grass prairie with park rangers from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. to help take care of this important cultural site.
You can choose between planting native seeds, collecting native seeds that we will replant next year, or removing invasive species that crowd out the native plants. No experience is necessary and all the tools needed will be provided - dress in layers and sturdy shoes (gloves will be available, but feel free to bring your own as well).
Volunteers will received a complimentary lunch at 11 a.m. and a token of thanks from the park.
Please RSVP so we know how much food to order by either calling 07-825-5464 ext. 214 or emailing at pipe_interpretation@nps.gov.
This event is free and open to the public.
For more information, please call 507-825-5464 ext. 214 or visit the park website at www.nps.gov/pipe. Event details and program schedules will be posted on the park facebook page at www.facebook.com/PipestoneNPS.
