2022 Theme: "Hometown Heroes ~ Honoring the Heroes of Pipestone's Past & Present"
Annually, we celebrate the Water Tower Festival. Residents and visitors turn out en masse for this fun-filled community get-together. Community events like these cannot happen without generous community-minded sponsors and volunteers!
Monday, June 20 until Found (Medallion Hunt) ***(BREAKING NEWS: THE MEDALLION HAS BEEN FOUND!)***
The annual hunt for the Water Tower Festival Medallion hunt begins Monday, June 20th at 8:00 am. Find the medallion and win $100 in Chamber bucks! The medallion will be on public land somewhere within the city limits of Pipestone. (***You do not need to dig or climb any object to find the medallion***) If you find the medallion, bring it to the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce to claim your prize. Each day clues as to the location will be revealed. You can find them all right here (below), PipestoneStar.com, listen to KLOH radio, or check out the Pipestone Chamber of Commerce or Pipestone Star's Facebook page.
CLUES: (HERE AT 8 AM ON 6/20/22)
Twenty-two is the year.
That you’ll finally get near to
Where the medallion is in repose.
To the archived site that we chose.
But we won’t guide the way
That will lead you astray.
Let the clues draw your map
To avoid getting lapped.
***Eight year old Lincoln LaBrune is the very LUCKY Winner of the Medallion Hunt & WINS $100 in Pipestone Area Chamber Checks! He is the son of Pipestone County residents, Ryan LaBrune and Steph LaBrune, who are the owners of Ultimate Woodworking Inc. Lincoln started searching with his Mom and his older sister Danica at 10:00 am and located it at 10:24 am thanks to his diligent searching and looking in the correct location due to Mom’s interpretation of the clue. It was found taped to the bottom of a rock next to the bench in Veterans Park across Main Street from SoJo’s Sportwear & Embroidery along the Square. Pipestone has a number of city parks and these super sleuths selected the correct one within 10 minutes of starting to search! They have come very close to finding the Medallion in years past, but this is their first WIN!!!
Congratulations, Lincoln and all of the LaBrune family!
