Area youth are invited to the Pipestone County Museum on Friday, December 29th, for two youth enrichment workshops.
The morning workshop, “Pack Your Wagon,” is open to youth currently enrolled in 3rd through 5th grade and will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The morning’s activities will guide participants to understand the choices pioneers made when they packed their wagons and headed in search of a homestead. Activities will have the attendees using language, math, and critical thinking skills as they explore and discover the pioneer lifestyle of the past. Each attendee will make a covered wagon to take home! Cost to attend: FREE
The afternoon workshop, "Let's Make Ice Cream" is for children of all ages and will begin at 1:00 p.m. The Museum will provide the ingredients and attendees will provide the muscle power as they hand crank the ice cream using an old fashioned ice cream maker. Enjoy sampling the ice cream as a reward for your efforts! Children under 10 years of age should be accompanied by an adult! Cost to attend: FREE WILL DONATION
To ensure enough supplies, preregistration for these workshops is requested by calling the Museum at (507) 825-2563.
