Our old-fashioned county fair is annually a top event in the county. Bring your kids to the children's barn to see and pet baby animals! Bring your appetite for unique food offerings each night! 4-H, FFA, and open class exhibitors share livestock, exhibits, and art with the public. There will be a midway featuring rides and games, displays and booths, as well as food and fun!

Kids Fishing Derby & Community Dinner
The entire community is invited to the 8th Annual Kids Fishing Derby & Community Meal on Wednesday, August 13th at beautiful Hiawatha Pageant Park (rain date: Thurs, 8/14 - same times). All ages are welcome to the Community Burger/Hot Dog Feed (while they last!) and Water Slides. Kids ages 15 and under can dip their lines in the ol' quarry pond while competing for trophies and prizes given for first fish caught and more. Fishers are welcome to use their own worms, but we will be providing worms.
Pipestone Pumpkin Palooza Festival (Cancelled)
This event was originally schedule for Saturday, September 13th, 2025, but pumpkins are being sold instead at the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce. New trailers of pumpkins will be arriving periodically, so keep checking back!
National Public Lands Day - Volunteers Needed
Join our Natural Resources Department for a hands-on experience in prairie restoration! Help us collect native prairie seeds and remove invasive plant species to support our local eco-systems. No experience needed - we'll provide the tools and training. Just bring sturdy shoes and dress in layers for the weather! Children are welcome to participate. Volunteers receive complementary lunch after 11:00 am as well as tokens of our appreciation. Event begins at the Monument visitor center at 9:00 am. This event is free and open to the public.
