Lights at the Lodge Drive Through
Experience the beauty of winter at the Hiawatha Pageant Park nightly! Drive through viewing of lighted Christmas trees will be available nightly, November 25th, 2023 through January 1, 2024 after the opening Lighting and Luminaria Walk on November 25th. This event is organized by the City of Pipestone?s Hiawatha Pageant Park Commission and made possible by all of our community businesses & citizens who adopt the trees.

Calumet Players Children's Theater AUDITIONS
Auditions for the 2024 Children?s Theater plays will be Thursday, January 4 beginning at 4:45 and ending at 7:00 pm at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center. Children in grades 1-8 are encouraged to audition for the shows. Participation fee is $30 with a family cap of $60. Scholarships are available. Children should be sure to attend auditions with a parent or guardian. This year?s shows are ?Holmes on the Range? by Craig Sodaro (Grades1-4) and ?Young Sherlock? by Craig Sodaro (Grades 5-8). Performances will be March 22, 23, and 24, 2024 at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center.
HPI Used Book Sale
Historic Pipestone Inc. (HPI) holds their monthly used book sale fundraiser on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am - approximately Noon. The sale features books in both hardcover and paperback, ranging over a variety of subjects in both fiction and nonfiction. All such books are donated by members of the community.

Museum's Monthly "Coffee Talk"
JANUARY COFFEE TALK ENTITLED “A PIECE OF THE OLD WORLD, KARL NIEMANN’S HAT” The public is invited to join the Pipestone County Historical Society for its January Coffee Talk on Thursday, January 18th when Susan Hoskins, Executive Director of the Pipestone County Historical Society shares the process used to learn about an object from the Museum collection. This presentation will share how understanding the story of an artifact in the collection can tell a story that crosses county boundaries and forms a connection to the greater region.

Pat?s musical tastes are eclectic. Though he considers himself foremost a folk guitarist, Pat?s influences are rooted in bluesmen Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Muddy Waters and Miles Davis. He manages to blend jazz and blues with folk, and the mix is seamless. English Paper Piercing 101
MUSEUM TO HOST ENGLISH PAPER PIECING 101 WORKSHOP English Paper Piecing is a hand sewing technique used in quilting. In this method of patchwork quilting, fabric is wrapped around shapes of heavy paper then hand sewn together to create a design. Once a shape has been made, the papers are removed, leaving the fabric patchwork ?square.? In this workshop, Instructor Laurie Ness will demonstrate the technique of English Paper Piecing. Guests will then have an opportunity to try it themselves while sewing a small wool table mat. All supplies needed to participate will be provided. This workshop will be held at the Pipestone County Museum (113 S. Hiawatha Ave., Pipestone) on Saturday, February 3rd beginning at 1:00 p.m. This class is limited to 12 participants. Reservations are required to ensure enough supplies. Reservations can be made by calling the Pipestone County Museum at (507) 825-2563. Participants must be at least 12 years of age and children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost to attend this workshop is $3.00 for members of the Pipestone County Historical Society and $5.00 for nonmembers.
