Merry & Bright Night - Holiday Parade of Lights

The Second Annual "Merry & Bright Night" - Holiday Parade of Lights will be Friday, December 5th at 5:30 pm in Historic Downtown Pipestone! The parade will begin at 5:30 pm and conclude approximately 6:00 pm.  Lineup is at 5:00 pm. The parade route will start at West Main Street by Liberty Pawn, head east 2 blocks, then turn south onto Hiawatha Avenue, continue south 2 more blocks and end at the corner of 3rd St SW (see map above). Lineup will be along 3rd Ave NW. We expect between 10 and 30 parade entries for this inaugural event.

Parade Entry Rules:

• Must be Merry & Bright!
• Absolutely NO candy, prizes, or objects may be thrown from floats or moving vehicles. Candy will drop into the street and kids will go after it creating a dangerous situation for drivers, especially for large vehicles.  If you distribute items, walkers must hand items directly to the crowd along each side of the street next to the curbs.
• Must Pre-Register with the Chamber.
• No Santa Claus impersonators. The real Santa will be riding with the Pipestone Fire Department.
• Lineup will be first-come, first-served with space at the front reserved for emergency vehicles. Enter 3rd Ave NW from 4th St NW and drive south slowly while looking for parade volunteers to help you find a spot. Lineup begins at 5:00 pm.
• Once lined up, please shut off headlights before and during the parade. Don't forget to turn them back one at the end of the parade route! ​
